Check out my latest book! The Pearson Express: Funny Sayings and Stories of My Children That Just Keeps on Rolling

Where do I begin? So many life changes had occurred over the last couple of months and into this new year. My husband and I welcomed another child into our family, and we moved to a new state. Though the transitions were exciting and a bit challenging, we made it our priority to enjoy the process. Through this process, with all things wacky with parenting, I created The Pearson Express: Funny Sayings and Stories of My Children That Just Keeps on Rolling. Honestly, my house is like a reality show. Between my kids and parenting, wacky is an understatement. It is pure comedy. With that said, I hope readers will enjoy this lively book (as well as my others) as I enjoy writing them! (Woohoo #1 New Release in  my category!)

Balance by Aneeta Pearson

Sunset, Mountain, Balance, Top, Landscape, Evening

It can be difficult finding a balance in life between the various roles and responsibilities I have. At times, feeling like I am not doing enough in one area can be frustrating. But I learned that there must be a sense of balance in my life. I learned that I don’t need to be perfect because there is no such thing. There are only 24 hours in a day. Most importantly, what Biblical scripture says about my role as a wife and mother (and all it entails), I choose to keep at the forefront of my mind, above anything else. With that said, for example, knowing that the dishes could wait or my children’s toys could be picked up later; are just a few things that now, are no sweat.

Be Strong & Courageous by Aneeta Pearson

people-2572105_1280

As a Christian parent, I take pride in raising my children on the word of God. I am touched every time I see them sing along in praise and worship, asking when we are going to church, and wanting to know more about God. Scripture says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6, NIV).

Furthermore, I believe the word of God regarding the times we are living in. “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams” (Act 2:17, NIV). People may dismiss the idea that we are not living in the last days but ladies and gentlemen, look around you.

Not long ago, my son said, in his own words, “Mama, I must tell everybody about Jesus and that He loves them!” I got goosebumps on my arms when he said that. Mind you my son chose to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, prior. I did not pressure him into doing so, neither did my husband. Furthermore, this isn’t the first time my son has made statements related to God that caught me completely off guard.

By his facial expression, body language, and making this statement (because I know my child) I know the Holy Spirit is at work. If I could put it into words, I discerned the presence of the Holy Spirit; a flood of compassion, joy, love for humanity, and yearning to tell the whole world about Jesus Christ was evident.

Besides being moved to tears, I supported him. I told him that the Lord is always with him so in all things be strong and courageous.

He Loves You by Aneeta Pearson

Free-Photos 3

I love listening to my Christian playlist especially when I am cooking or doing chores around my house. I take the opportunity to meditate on Biblical scriptures as it relates to the lyrics of the songs. When I play my songs, I often think about God’s love for us and if we truly understand the depth of His love.

Personally, I went through the process of understanding God’s love for me and had to unteach myself all of the false (and ridiculous) things I learned and heard about God from others as a youth into adulthood. I needed to know Him for myself. I yearned for the truth of who He is. Accepting Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior was my first step.

I am grateful for God’s demonstration of His love through Salvation. I am also thankful for His mercy, grace, discipline, conviction through the Holy Spirit, His plan for my life, and everything that entails His love.

Besides reading the Bible, and attending a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching, Christ-centered church, prayer is just as important. A day not praying or interacting with God feels weird, like I’m missing something, because my relationship with Him involves a loving fellowship.

The Bible has many verses about God’s love for us (1 John 4:7-12, Romans 5:8, and John 3:16) to list a few. God is love. He loves you. Get to know Him for yourself by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

“Human Family” by Dr. Maya Angelou

I believe the title of Dr. Maya Angelou’s poem, “Human Family” speaks for itself. Reflect.

I note the obvious differences
in the human family.
Some of us are serious,
some thrive on comedy.

Some declare their lives are lived
as true profundity,
and others claim they really live
the real reality.

The variety of our skin tones
can confuse, bemuse, delight,
brown and pink and beige and purple,
tan and blue and white.

I’ve sailed upon the seven seas
and stopped in every land,
I’ve seen the wonders of the world
not yet one common man.

I know ten thousand women
called Jane and Mary Jane,
but I’ve not seen any two
who really were the same.

Mirror twins are different
although their features jibe,
and lovers think quite different thoughts
while lying side by side.

We love and lose in China,
we weep on England’s moors,
and laugh and moan in Guinea,
and thrive on Spanish shores.

We seek success in Finland,
are born and die in Maine.
In minor ways we differ,
in major we’re the same.

I note the obvious differences
between each sort and type,
but we are more alike, my friends,
than we are unalike.

We are more alike, my friends,
than we are unalike.

We are more alike, my friends,
than we are unalike.

His Greatness by Aneeta Pearson

We love spending time as a family. Watching One Strange Rock as a family has been a great learning experience. We love learning together and having discussions afterward. Regarding this series, we were able to explore our planet through breathtaking images and listen to former astronauts share their personal stories and perspective about the Earth. Besides my son wanting to jump in the screen and join the astronauts; we discussed creation in a Biblical context and the greatness of our God in all His creations. The series is a reminder, at least to us, that everything around us is interconnected and beyond our human explanation.

The Father’s Love by Aneeta Pearson

Johan1127

Recently during my quiet time, I poured out my heart to God about a difficult situation. I was upset and stressed. After I asked Him to fix the situation, I said, “Father, I need your comfort.” Calling God “Father” took years to say considering my life experiences. However, I immediately experienced indescribable love and perfect peace after uttering those five words. I went to bed afterward. As I drifted off to sleep, I kept thinking, “Wow! His love! I’m in perfect peace!”

Someone once said, “Why are you surprised when God answers your prayers? You should be used to Him.” I replied, “How do you get used to God?” God always has a way of showing that He’s with me and that He’s in control, that still leaves me in awe, no matter how many times He answers my prayers. I am grateful for that. The Lord never promised life would be fair. But it is written that He promised to never leave us.

The Father’s Love is real. He is real.
