Wait, What? by Aneeta Pearson

A few days ago, my son and I heard a Christian song that raised a red flag (to me) and brought on a ton of questions from him. My son was just as confused as I was when we heard it. The lyrics were not Scripturally sound. God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV).

Because my husband and I are responsible for our children’s spiritual welfare, it is our responsibility, through His word and the help of the Holy Spirit, to guide them. Instances such as this is a reminder of why reading/studying the word of God is critically important in the life of a Christian. I am not judging the artist in any way. Judging is not my job; its God’s. My job as a parent is to guide my children in the righteousness of God.

After a long Q & A session, my son concluded, “Wow that was confusing!” A statement I hope to never hear him say about a Christian song again.
